Solution Focused Brief Therapy

Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is an effective therapy which enables you to focus on strengths and resources rather than difficulties; on the future as you would like it to be.   It has links with NLP and hypnosis; I use solution focused techniques frequently in my work with clients.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

I use CBT techniques as part of therapy, finding them helpful to identify thought patterns and beliefs which may be holding you back.  CBT is an effective therapy, recognised by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) for many common mental health issues, such as depression, phobias and anxiety.  The basic premise of CBT is that negative thoughts lead to negative feelings and behaviours.  However, my personal view is that for many people, it is negative feelings, such as low mood, that lead to distressing thoughts and associated behaviours.  CBT can be combined with hypnosis for many problems; something I have specific training in.

Sensory Attachment Intervention

Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI) is an occupational therapy intervention, based on the latest neuroscience research.  It can be really effective for children and young people with attachment difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions, dyspraxia and sensory processing difficulties, and provide you with practical everyday strategies and activities to reduce the impact of these difficulties.
