Training and News 2017

Training and News 2017

Where to start with news? Well, Mindscape has been going for more than eleven years. Every year it has been a joy and a privilege to work with you, my wonderful clients – fabulous, open minded and resilient people with more strengths and resources than you often recognise initially.

I’ve done additional refresher EMDR training, am working towards accreditation and ultimately consultant status.

I’ve completed further training in Inner Child work. Working in this way is so powerful and rewarding!

I’ve completed introductory training in Somatic Experiencing… this tied in well with all the other trauma focused theory, research and practice that I use, and was really inspiring.

I’ve continued to volunteer for a medical charity twice a year, and have continued to donate to charity on behalf of Mindscape – last accounting year I donated £496.94 to mainly humanitarian causes.

Fees

Fees

I offer a free consultation for us to get to know each other, and for me to understand your needs and priorities.

My standard evening rate is £60 per 50 minute session. If you are free daytimes, it drops to £55. In addition to this, I offer a number of discounts for NHS staff, people on low incomes, and to people who book several sessions in advance.

This is competitive compared to other local therapists, especially when you consider my breadth of experience and skills.

I continued my audit looking at outcomes of EMDR in the NHS. I was also allowed dedicated time to run an EMDR clinic.

I did two presentations on EMDR, and one on occupational therapy to my colleagues in the NHS, who were fantastically supportive and interested!

I’ve done training in trauma focused CBT… but have to say I think EMDR is far more effective, empowering, enabling and gentle…

I’ve completed a paediatric hypnotherapy diploma training.

I also really enjoyed running a small charity event, and raised over £100 for British Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders and a small Turkish charity supporting refugees, with the support of my amazing colleagues.

I’ve been to Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro!

Training and News in 2015

In 2015 I completed EMDR update training.

I set up a small project to use EMDR in my NHS team. I was so delighted to be able to use it, and do an audit of its very successful outcomes.

Training and News in 2014

I’ve continued my commitment to giving something back to the community by volunteering for the mental health team for Festival Medical Services again in 2014. As well as enjoying attending the festivals, such as Glastonbury and Reading, it’s also great for clinical practice, as you have to think on your feet, with very few resources available.

In 2014 I completed an 8 day training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, building on prior skills.

Mindscape celebrated its eighth birthday on 28th March 2014, and I would like to thank everybody who has helped me make it a success, especially my wonderful clients. Thank you for your support.
